The Voth (dinosaurs that evolved on Earth and left for the DQ) are millions of years ahead and have massive city ships/transwarp. Maybe the Voth scientist convinced his kind they evolved on Earth. They despised mammals, so perhaps they come back to reclaim Earth and cleanse it of the smelly humans.
