It’s misleading to say 1 trillion in development costs already. That was to be the entire cost over 40 years of more than 2000 planes and their pilots training, fuel, maintenance, etc.....

Total development cost is not 1 trillion. It’s slated to be 1 trillion by 2040 if you include total development, procurement and operating costs though out the projects lifespan. Any other plane would have similar costs over 40 years.
