I published a video on this five years ago. :-) It works! Skip to the end if you want to see my magic right away. LOL.

Great idea! Except for the damning weight gain due to tossing the stressed skin structure of the airplane out the window and having to get stiffness back through much heavier means. Oh, and a pressurized cabin that is not circular in cross section. Oh, and multiple pressurized cabins (cockpit, luggage compartment, and…
Well, that article got it wrong too. It’s “silicone”. Typos abound. People using “silicone” and “silicon” interchangeably is one of my pet peeves...
Sony does a waterproof phone, including a 3.5mm headphone jack, with no annoying port covers. Now don’t ask me how they pull it off, but they do! I imagine you’d have to blow out the ports before using them... ;-) http://www.theverge.com/2015/10/16/954…
Now I don’t have to type this comment. Thanks. ;-)
Well, those are two separate things that I stuck together into one statement... I can use “Hey Siri” to do things that don’t require the phone to be unlocked, but I have to reach down and blindly unlock my phone with my thumb (which takes about 0.1 second with the iPhone 6S) to read my e-mail... I usually do that…
I wasn’t trying to say “therefore Apple is better that Microsoft” or anything of the sort. My main point is that Siri works extremely well, and as aside, Win7 doesn’t work well enough to even be useful. I know the current incarnation of Siri is several years newer.
I am continually amazed by how well “Hey Siri” works. I tell Siri to read my most recent e-mail, my most recent fax messages, to read the last e-mail from a certain person, etc... Using Hey Siri is often the fastest way to get something done. In my mind, it has gone from being a gimmick to actually being a slick user…
Excellent list. Definitely words to live by… I don’t disagree with a single one of them.
Great quotes, and I second the spicy mustard and bear sausage. Also great when cut up and combined with oil, beer, onions, and peppers in an iron skillet while in a dimly lit camp...
I can’t find any information on the measurement range of the accelerometer or the gyro. Also where do I buy this thing?
Not much you can do about this issue, other than put really REALLY big 5.1V zener diodes to ground to sink the output current of this device and dissipate the heat generated by that sinking. It’s likely not something you can protect against with software, so no quick fix. Lesson learned? Don’t stick strange USB…
LOL at the quick personal attacks while completely missing the point...
What this likely is is just a boost converter (a type of switching-mode power supply) that uses 5V as an input, produces 220V as an output, then probably injects it into the USB data pins to fry the motherboard. The USB port’s current output is plenty to provide a damaging amount of current even after being converted…
But it’s been made clear here that if you don’t use CF, you’re not a photographer, so SD is apparently irrelevant...
Waiting for the UPS truck to deliver my iPhone 6S. Then I’ll play with it for an hour or so, restore an iCloud backup, and life will be normal again. LOL. Maybe I shouldn’t read all of the reviews and “what to expect” stuff... I might be surprised by something. LOL.
I have this one. It’s tiny, so it’s tough to angle into a USB port sometimes, but being so small and having a relatively sturdy loop on the back end of it, it should remain ready for use until I take it off of the key ring and lose it! There is a bit of a speed trade-off with respect to some of the other ones, but…
What’s the best way for PC users to maintain a full-resolution backup of the photos and videos from their iPhones on the PC? Dropbox and other non-Apple methods fail to sync in the background and lag behind, and iCloud Photos doesn’t sync a copy of full-resolution photos to the PC. Is there an app launcher that can…
Pressure cooker... great idea. Now I have yet another reason to put a pressure cooker on my wife’s yard sale watch list. ;-) Having a high positive pressure accelerates carbonation, right?
