I'm a freakin' engineer (albeit the weird engineer who won spelling bees as a kid), and the typos smack *me* in the face when I read this site. I can't imagine how bad it must be for the more literary types out there... Seriously, I involuntarily *cringe* when I see stuff like that.

LOL!

I just looked at the original article, and the kid's mom posted a comment where she referred to him as Dude again:

The kid's name is Dude. Now he's even more awesomER. ;-)

Now playing

I can't believe nobody posted the exploding whale! Next to the dancing baby, this was one of the most popular and earliest viral videos, back when geeks were the only people on the 'Net...

Based on the color of the breading (more of a dull chocolate brown than a golden brown), I'd say they were cooked in old oil. That's a pet peeve of mine... Might affect the taste test results...

Because Photoshop is the only image editor out there. Riiiiiight...

I use a winking smiley like this: ;-) almost universally. I guess I better start hitting that shift key and dropping the wink... I intend to convey "I'm just kidding" or "I'm laughing right now" with the winking smiley. Maybe I should make use of that capital D instead... LOL. :-D <— That's me realizing I've

Looks like someone jumped onto alibaba.com, found some Chinese headphones, slapped on a silkscreened logo, and is gonna capitalize on a parody. I say go for it... it's not like you have product development cost into it or anything! ;-)

I'm a mechanical design engineer, and there's no effing way it takes 200 minutes to machine that case. According to the actual interview with the designer, it takes "200 minutes to cut and process the front and rear parts of each phone." The "processing" step could include anodizing. Machining ops alone won't

Great concept. I can see this being done with a molded polyethylene piston and some die-cut plastic sheet for a handle in a production version.

Is that a Kiwi accent?

Nice... a 3d-printed mug that is only manufacturable in 3d-printed form due to the overhanging features. You can't pull it off of a mold.

Why would I want a watch made out of parts of a gun that was made to be as cheap and simple as possible? The beauty of the AK-47 is its design, not its materials, especially with respect to making decorative items. I don't want a watch that rusts, nor do I want one made of parts that have been plated so they won't

Dammit, you're right... ;-) After reading on another article (about the alcoholic dippin' dots) that liquid nitrogen is only about $0.50/liter, I'm tempted to get some and have some fun with it!

I thought it was awesome that some of the berries shattered mid-air upon colliding with flying druplets... ;-)

I think it's just the app, since this data was not compiled by Facebook... To anyone but Facebook, browsing Facebook via the web just looks like web browsing.

Actually, it's more like 18%. ;-)

At least on the surface, HTC's BlinkFeed (or a Facebook-originated equivalent) is about as far in this direction as I'd like to see things go...

How about stereo audio recording? It seems like an obvious one for the "list of specs" battle that has left manufacturers wondering what they should include next. 1080p video accompanied by monaural audio is a joke, as stereo can add a lot of realism when played back on a device with real speakers.
