Or maybe they could do a hybrid (HA!) of the DPi and P1 concepts, where designated chassis manufacturers build the cars and work with OEMs to design bodywork, while the OEMs themselves build the engines and drivetrains. The only difference would be that they’d be allowed to run faster than the P2 machines, and

Except the GT’s doors literally fall off on a semi-regular basis...but they at least have the important bits right.

I was expecting it to go down way worse for Corey than it did.

These are my sentiments exactly. I don’t want a compromised, half-baked current-gen EV. I’ll probably never find them interesting from a technical/engineering standpoint, but if I could own one as a commuter and grocery-getter without making alterations to my routine, I just might consider one.

I’d enjoy it more if there were any drivers or manufacturers I cared about. All it would take is GM, Ford, or Bentley to jump in and I might actually consider watching it. Similarly if Jann Mardenborough were to jump into one of these things I’d have a reason to watch.

Not when it’s largely spec it doesn’t.

Formula E isn’t developing anything though. The batteries are all spec, the drivetrains are basically spec (going through a single gearbox, so no individual motor torque vectoring), and electric motors are about as “perfect” as they’re ever going to practically get. The entire thing screams virtue signaling at the

NOx is formed mostly at higher temperatures, which are related to high compression ratios. So you could lower the compression ratio to reduce them, which also reduces power and efficiency...

They said the ban is mostly due to air quality problems from NOx emissions, which alternative-fuel ICE cars also produce, sometimes in greater quantities. If mass production of renewable fuels was ever made feasible, it would solve the carbon problem, but probably not many other emissions problems. That being said,

But do you want to be forced to give up something you love and be forced to acquire a taste for something else? I’d rather have the ability to own and use both (if I ever saw an EV I had a real interest in - though that Morgan electric 3-wheeler seems kinda cool).

“If you see one in your area, do not approach. They are extremely unpredictable and will attack unprovoked.”

I don’t hate the new look, but I’m one of the apparent minority that liked the old cars better (at least in superspeedway trim - we’ll see what the road/short oval trim does for the car). That tiny rear wing doesn’t fit the car at all and it looks like a wingless Formula Ford car. They should’ve either mounted the

I agree. I also don’t like the new car’s proportions, at least in this superspeedway trim.

The ATS GT3 uses a turbo V6.

Could’ve been much worse had Bowyer hit the barrier at the entrance to pit road.

They match the car’s equally unfortunate nose quite well...

So the dispatch actually sent actual cops out on those nonsense calls?

So basically Group C all over again? Sign me up!

The Roborace cars are supposed to top out at around 190 mph. If they can do that in the confines of these dinky street circuits, I doubt it, but they’ll be faster than Formula E...with completely spec cars, and no drivers...

Some of those turns looked more like a kindergartener’s worst attempt at cursive than a race course
