I’d like to think the number they offered, 38 was a deliberate fuck you to all things Red Sox related.

NFL parity is a social myth - there hasn’t been any meaningful parity across the league since the 1990s. In some divisions maybe yes, but the AFC in particular has been dominated by the Brady/Manning/Roethlisberger trifecta. But this really gets to the heart of the matter: NFL quarterbacks get paid boatloads because

Waiter: Would you like some pepper, Mr. West?

the NHL has parity out the ass and Patriots have dominated the NFL for 20 years.

I think the majority of interest in the NFL can be traced to two factors:

Interestingly enough, I did the math a few months ago and the NFL and MLB has the exact same amount of different champions in the last 25 years (14 teams each, the NBA in that span has 10). To me parity in the NFL means your team has a better chance to make the playoffs. It doesn’t mean you can win.

I think the hard cap actually reduces parity. You tell teams they have to spend 89% of the cap on average every 4 years rolling period and teams sink too much money into the 12-15 shitty starting QBs in the league because they think they have to.

South Florida cable subscribers and the MLB teams that lose money on revenue sharing.

I’m still trying to figure out if Jeter is in on the grift, thinks he’s in on the grift but is actually a mark, or is just a total rube.

He tossed his bat, caught it, and said ‘fuck.’ The whole exchange took, what, maybe four actual seconds? Who gives a shit?

You’re right, I should be more tolerant of misogyny. After all, women are just property of their husband's right?

Ironically, “politically incorrect” is the PC term for “asshole.”

I’ll take the viewpoint that flinching doesn’t mean that he’s a pussy or scared, it means that he’s alert and prepared. Anybody who sees (or thinks he sees) a punch coming from anything other than a small baby and just sticks their chin out and takes it instead of turning away from (also known as attempting to dodge)

Yeah, could be any size douche, really.

This flinch is not the least bit embarrassing. I don’t get why it would be.

I know we’re supposed to be laughing at Pryor, but anyone who fake swings on someone to try to get them to flinch is a huge douche.

only thing more self owning than faking a thrown a punch is laughing at the person who flinches. you must be super tough

“Pryor’s flinch is embarrassing on its face, but when you consider 1) Pryor is wearing a helmet and DJ Swearinger isn’t, 2) Pryor is the one advancing, and 3) Pryor stands about half a foot taller than Swearinger, it might be grounds for forced retirement.”

It’s not like the Clips have ties to Bowen or he’s any great broadcaster. He wears a bowtie and could hit a corner 3 before it was cool. He’s they’re Quinten Ross. The Spurs aren’t interested in Quinten Ross and whatever benfits or analysis he may provide. If Leonard says that he signed with Clips solely because they

No. Stop.
