Wow, the comments are pretty divided on this one, but I have to say that I really did enjoy this one. Really well animated, plenty of funny lines peppered throughout, a satisfying main story with some well used guest actors, and if not total cohesion there were still a few good laughs in the side plots.

As far as "what is even happening" endings go it's up there with the best of them, I'm looking at you Mass Effect 3 and creepy hologram ghost child.

Was really hoping to see Danny Brown on this list, but it is testament to what an amazing year it's been for music that a lot of fantastic albums couldn't make the cut.

Can't say I'm as down on this episode as this review is, I thought it was rather sweet, funny, didn't get bogged down in random subplots, and had some pretty clever gags and quips scattered throughout.

Seriously enjoyed this. Strange might be a familiar character but Marvel have done the casting trick again with Cumberbatch, and doubly so with Swinton who gracefully owns every scene.
It's fun, it's brisk, it effectively introduces a new side to the MCU, and oh my god the visuals and set pieces are just fantastic.
If

5/5 MeowMeow Beans for this one.

He's not as good as Cottonmouth, but I rather enjoyed his OTT "son of a preacher man" vibe, really carries on the Blacksploitation vibe the series has been riffing on.
Plus the way he delivers the last line in this episode, I mean you had to laugh a little at the audacity.

Blade belongs in the Marvel/Netflix corner, especially now that we've been introduced to some semi-supernatural stuff through the second season of Daredevil. Have him show up in the Punisher, fisticuffs, Blade explains vampires, shit hits fan. Boom.

"or in the generally monstrous depiction of Cox’s ex-wife, Jordan (Christa Miller)" Yeah, but that's her character, not the writers being all anti-women. Also Jordan is one of the most consistently funny characters on the show, the scorn with which Miller delivered her lines was amazing.

This is so much closer to the tone of the books than that god awful film they churned out at the height of the adaptation phase of Hollywood, muchos excitos.

Not sure about first time, there's loads of details and little clues throughout the film that I only noticed on my second and even third viewing, though I suppose that does depend on how clued in you are the first time you see it.

Yeeeeeeeeah, this list smells like a whole lot of advertising clickbait bullshit. Hard pass.

Know exactly how you feel, it's gone on too long for me stop now.

After what happened in JJ that would be a major misstep for the Netflix series, there's some major emotional trauma there, and though it's weird that it's not mentioned it's not too far fetched to assume that Luke just wouldn't want to talk about it.

I feel like I'm in the minority being excited for Claire and Luke getting together, I think they make a much better pair than Luke and JJ ever did, not to mention all of the sh*t that went down between them in JJ making it borderline impossible for him to ever want to go there again.
Also glad that this episode got

Reminds me of early Deathlok on AoS, a bit shonky considering the budget of the series, like something someone would throw together for Comiccon.

As cheesy as the pimp stormtrooper looks, that line made me laugh out loud, the delivery was just perfect.

I'm thinking Kingpin, in his new jacked up post-prison mode

The 90s one could actually be Peggy In Da Hood.

Poor Black Sails, it really deserves better.
