It’s amazing just how much signage people can ignore when they try. Our bridge had signs which flashed a warning when vehicles were over height, as well as clear signs approaching and on the bridge stating the height. We also had two bars prior to the bridge that they’d hit first and big, warning stripes. People still

Doesn't matter the wording, first trick is getting people to read the sign to begin with.

Well, I would.

Add byew-na vis-ter to that list. Buena Vista, Va

One of those workplace accident signs, “X days since last vehicle decapitated.”

Meh, I lived near the town of Arab Alabama. It was originally called Arad, Alabama after the founder. Story was that when someone painted the water tower Arab instead of Arad, they decided that it was easier to just change the name of the town.

Ignore my punctuation. The sign lights up specifically for over-height trucks. If you hit the bridge. You’re an idiot.

Now playing

You want an even worse scenario? One car gets t-boned by a Train, they SHUT DOWN the entire crossing except to foot traffic.

And a flashing sign and some blinky lights too.

The sign should read “Next show in a week”...

Sorry, I meant lower the top of the bridge so it looks less accessible, not lower the road bed to actually make it more accessible. Make it look like one of those old European road bridges. The sort that you worry about even taking an SUV through.

Me, every time these articles/videos show up: “This is getting old.”

They need to start and auto roof repair shop on the other side of the bridge. That’s where the money is.

At what point does the city just close the road there? That happened at a low bridge near me. After about 5 trucks plowed into it, they just blockaded the road for good and made a detour to a level crossing several blocks down.

I feel like you’re exaggerating how much range people need. Like, sure, if you *ask* people they’ll tell you that they need to drive 400miles on a single charge but look at their actual needs and this is probably fine.

Yeah. I was recently thinking if I have to give up manual transmissions for my next daily car I should go with an electric, and the “e” looks about perfect.

It’s been made purposely a hassle to deal in large quantities of cash.  Hell, you could easily get it taken from you if your get pulled over for pretty much anything. Cops love to steal money from people carrying cash.

Funny story. I had money in the bank for a new car purchase. I bought the car on credit card to get the points and then paid it right off. It just happened that particular card was recently renewed with a new expiry date and I had not used it yet and I didn’t for while after. When I got my statement I found thousands

And if you go back further, one of these delightful little buggers.
