How do you figure a caterham for fullback?

Can anyone who’s ever owned a jag from the 80's to mid 90's tell me if there really as expensive and difficult to maintain as everyone makes them out to be or are people exaggerating a little bit? I ask because I love the xjr and 6 and I can work on cars but are they as complex as everyone makes them out to be?

I’m just asking for educational purposes but don’t trucks actually need to be rwd for pulling trailers?
