I could see it either way, honestly. Lion is clearly related to Rose, and I don't think the Crystal Gems knew about him before Steven found him. It's not really that I want any of them to die, but the show is kind of about the aftermath and revival of a gem war. It seems like an avenue the show could choose to take, and it could be good from a story standpoint.

I definitely had a ~panic~ moment when Jasper had Amethyst's gem in her hands—I was so sure she was going to be shattered. It doesn't seem beyond the pale at this point to lose a major character in the show to me.
