If faith is what certain people need to feel okay, then who the fuck am I to tell them otherwise?

I don't see how that's the case. Far more people in the US marry than vote (unfortunately). And more importantly, the SCOTUS decision on the VRA didn't bar anyone from voting, but if they'd decided the other way on DOMA, millions would have been barred from legal marriage. People were more excited about DOMA because

I guess I'd be more sad about a state government that thinks it can have your property even if you're found not guilty at trial.

All of them, apparently, since no jurisdiction deems it acceptable to punish felons by permanent injunction from marrying - another key characteristic of being part of society.

I personally do not follow the logic behind the felon restrictions determining what is worse.

No, you come on. Being barred from marriage is substantially worse than being barred from voting, and that principle is made abundantly clear in the fact that while some states bar a felon from voting, no states go so far as to bar a felon from marrying.

The court didn't strike down the Voting Rights Act, or the right to have your vote count. Maybe its not that people don't give a shit - its that the practical consequences of this ruling are basically limited to the enactment of some voter ID laws which the Federal government will challenge under the surviving

It just shows where people's priorities really are.

So if these "good liberal white people" are so concerned about racism, the police, the justice system et al., where is the outcry over the VRA and the numerous other incidents of black people getting unjustly killed? Its nowhere to be found.

Great tip! You can bet the next time my balls are all over the place, I'll be looking for a couple of studs to hold them.

But if I draw then I have a drawing. If I paint then I have a painting. If I'm good at either of those I have a good piece of work. Maybe it's not any better than anybody else's stuff, but if I want I can display it by itself so it stands out from the others.

All that stuff is new, then. I basically tuned out BeagleBone stuff when the first one came out, because it was completely useless. (And frankly 7 ADC channels out of 60+ header inputs is still pretty lame.)

The Ethernet shield would be what you'd want, with the bonus that you'd be able to power the setup along the Ethernet cable - either via PoE, or using a 6-dollar injector cable. I'm using this to monitor soil moisture levels in my houseplants - something I wouldn't be able to do with the Pi, because of the lack of ADC

It's possible I'm thinking of the original ($90) BeagleBone, not this new "Black" (which I was not familiar with) but I'm not finding any mention of ADC on its wiki. It's astonishing how so many of these purported Arduino-killers trip over their own dicks and just wind up being little more than mega-tiny Linux

I feel like I can shorten this article. Which Microcontroller platform should you use?

Do you want it to work? Use Arduino. Use Arduino Ethernet if your sensor needs to be on a network for some reason.

See, this is why I don't dance. What is the point? Seriously, why dance? If you do it right, you're exactly as good as everyone else that is dancing and therefore unnoticed. If you do it wrong, about a hundred people are ready to show up and critique every part of your performance while at the same time telling you

That's what people whose martial arts aren't effective in any real fighting always say.

But sometimes an assailant can't be dissuaded by your words or your inner peace, or he's on you before you have a chance to take your shoes off and bow out of respect to a fellow warrior. And when that's the case, you better have

First you deny the thesis and then restate it, and now you accuse me of promoting genocide. Murder Catholics? Ban religion? Where are you getting this stuff? (Religion, perhaps?)

JCO's ideas lead nowhere except having a conversation about the merits of belief in, among others, a faith that enshrines second-class status

But people are their bodies. If you value a person, there's nothing to value but their body. You're arguing from some kind of mind/body dualism (or worse, mind/body/"spirit" trio-ism) that just doesn't reflect reality. People are their bodies.

If I may be so bold as to correct - I believe those are surface-mount LED's.

I watched several times to be sure.
