I think the point wasn't that Family Guy is necessarily that great, but that this show makes it look multidimensional.  With Brickleberry, a lot of the jokes weren't even jokes.  Ex. Sweet Dee tells the bear to stop eating candy, to which the bear says "Well she's annoying."  That was a joke on this show.
