What rhetoric? Are you fucking kidding? She’s pointing out basic objective facts and people are threatening to kill her. Who the fuck ungreyed you?

I know I’ve said this many times over the years, but as it still amazes me, I’ll say it again:

I’d say HamNo was doing “light satire” of the way science news gets both hyped and dumbed down in media coverage, and he was writing from the perspective of a non-scientifically literate person who bought into the hype, and is now disappointed. I enjoyed the post and thought it was kind of funny—in part because I’m a

Sounds like you were an aspiring scientist who doesn’t know much about Einstein. That was your first mistake.

it’s a weird defense of not calling a white supremacist a white supremacist, but as long as it brings you joy, I guess

I didn’t think this way until recently. They are still better than most but their Venezuela coverage is really slanted. I’ve never heard them give the whole picture. It’s always very pro Guaido and anti Maduro.

NPR is bad. It pushes a radical centrism that is happy to play the ‘both sides’ game endlessly, employs a cadre of Very Serious People who lean wingnut, and is basically of incapable of calling a spade a spade.

The assumption here is that McAdams got elected by being fiscally conservative, rather than by running in a wave year, in a swing district, in a state where a majority of people thought Trump was a bad president by the time the election rolled around. I’m not gonna say that AOC or Ilhan Omar could have gotten elected

Hey! Be civil! No need for name calling! No one deserves to be called a Democrat.

One inch on each side of the page!

NOBODY IS ASKING FOR WAGE INCREASES WITHOUT HEALTHCARE FREE AT THE POINT OF ACCESS AND TAX INCREASES ON THE RICH AND ON CORPORATIONS AND RENT CONTROL AND PUBLIC HOUSING AND PUBLIC TRANSIT AND THE ELIMINATION OF FOOD DESERTS

Are they going to read ALL OF IT?

There is no reason to support one necessary idea over another necessary idea. Just do both! Jesus fucking Christ.

We won last time.

Exactly, we don’t need the GOP-Lite version of the Democratic party.  The Congressional Progressive Caucus needs to take control of the party for us to move forward.

How would a minimum wage increase “make matters worse”? If the federal minimum wage had kept pace with inflation and accounted for CoL and productivity, it’d be around $20/hr today (which is where it should be).

How many times do I need to tell you that controls on the cost of living are among the popular policies I am talking about? Holy shit. Listen.

“She’s up front about her positions and you have to respect that.”

Right, the party’s conservative wing needs to fall in line behind the popular policies and candidates supported by the left.

To whom it may concern,

I can never get over the fact the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee chair is named Cheri Bustos.

Yours truly,
