Got a little bit more respect for my boss today. Finally got a ride in his '89 325xi.

Girlfriend just overcooked a turn driving in a snowstorm in the Saab 900SE. Took on a curb at full lock, shattering the wheel, and tucking it back into the wheel well. Nice.

I was just walking across the street and I heard a diesel car coming towards me. I couldn't tell what it was from the headlights, but as soon as got under the streetlight it was clear it was a Chevette. It was 20 degrees and icy out, so I don't know why the hell somebody would be driving around 30+ year old diesel

It is dark times. The snow is flying, and I've dropped insurance on the miata. I guess the Volvo 245 is the beast of burden for the next couple of months. . .although the miata does do better in the snow. . .and has better tires. . . . maybe I've dropped the wrong car. Oh what have I done.

This seems like hollow data, but sort of interesting on public opinion of mandatory ESC. It is unarguable that ESC does save lives, but where should auto makers draw the line on driver-selection? Obviously a Golf R should be able to shut off ESC, but should a Camry?
