I think you are confusing why they said they got rid of self-revive with why they actually got rid of self-revive.  They got rid of self-revive because it broke too many encounters and it was easier to get rid of that than fix the encounters plain and simple.

That’s true! It does happen. I’d say Uber, in general, isn’t great with its cancelation policies on the part of drivers nor riders.

I’d have more sympathy for this type of situation if I didn’t know that some drivers “farm cancellations” - which is they purposely take a long time to get to you in order to try to get you to cancel. I’ve had other situations where drivers call me to ask where I’m going and then a min later they cancel my ride. So,…
