the final boss of Adventure Time is figuring out how to live your life in the way that makes you feel most fulfilled.

a first season is for figuring stuff out. I can totally do "pleasant but insubstantial" at this point in the series.

and regarding the just-for-boys thing, the happy meal toy people are not us. they just don't know the show very well, and are botching the execution a little. who cares? it'll probably be good for the show's ratings, and I'm glad they're doing it at all.

the way I think of it is: The show is pretty great, and kids should watch it because, like The Simpsons did for many of us, it will shape their senses of humor.

BMO thinks of itself as a boy when it's instructing Football, who is a girl.

RS season five has definitely been better than season four. The Calvin/Minty team in particular has been kicking ass. And the very best RS episodes are better than the weaker AT episodes (if "Tants" or "Wall Buddy" went up against tonight's AT, I'd definitely say RS won the night).

PB being petty and throwing everybody in jail seemed out of character for her. She can be cruel, but there's usually SOME justification for it.

I was disappointed by AT, RS, and Archer* tonight. Steven Universe was actually the best show of the night.
