People like this have been saying outrageous things for years to get attention. Now they’re actually having to suffer some consequences for it, which I view as a good thing.

In his time on the force I wonder how many times he pulled over suspected drunk drivers and gave them the condescending lecture that police like to give about how they shouldn’t drive after having even a single drink.
The sentence is absurd given what happened. Seems way more punitive than rehabilitative. However, what really got me was this.
I came here to say the exact same thing. Might be nice if they did the tiniest bit of research. But “facts”, who needs ‘em, amiright?

Can someone explain to me why DeSantis and Abbott continue to push policies that they must know are killing their constituents? What exactly do they think they are gaining from this ridiculous game?

People don’t want their tax money going to fund a system that ensures education or ensures everyone has access to health care, but post a sad story on GoFundMe and they trip over themselves to throw money at it. Great system we have here.
You got one thing wrong. They don’t claim to “follow the science”, they claim to “do [their] own research”, which means watching Tucker Carlson and believing every word that comes out his mouth.
Basically, pay your new people a fair wage, otherwise youll shoot yourself in the foot long term.
This is ridiculous advise. Pay attention to your credit card and bank statements every month and you’ve got nothing to worry about. And you’ll never get dinged a late fee. And you’ll have a bunch more free time.
I think the actions of the desk clerk were perfect. There is no way Karen’s defense attorney can argue that he escalated or contributed to the problem. He just quietly recorded her rant until she got bored and left.
I can’t believe I have to say this, but that’s not how the first amendment works. Try actually reading the constitution you claim to love so much.

Agreed. My credit score is over 800 and I haven’t had a car loan or mortgage in about a decade. I do have credit cards and utilities that I pay in full every month and that keeps my credit score high.
The problem is that that “well-performing brokerage account” could tank virtually overnight because of a “market correction.” However, that loan doesn’t shrink just because your brokerage account is worth half of what it was yesterday.
