Trolls and online ne’er-do-wells have always been around. In the 90s I ran a BBS - sort of like a text based site that you dialed into, used for file swapping, messaging, chat and games - and then I ran a few web based games in the early 2000's. I remember having to program a robust banning system to deal with the

This is so sensual

He took multiple meetings from them - if you have no intention to sell, why bother? He tossed out a $15 mil number - which is large but not outrageously so. I think he was serious but he tries to pass it off as not.

I bet ol’ Uzi puts in his will some kind of unenforceable bullshit like they can have the domain but can’t sell it.

Meh... Like a lot of long running disputes, there’s errors on both sides. From what we know (according to Mr. Nissan) Nissan Corp asked him to name his price and he didn’t do so until throwing out “15 mil” which may or may not have been serious. It doesn’t seem that outrageous today, but perhaps at the time it was.

I wonder about maintaining traction too. Controlled 300 mph on a street with curves and bumps isn’t the same as doing it in a straight line on a track or desert flat.

For this to be valid they’d need to have done the same survey in its respective decade. Let me assure you that at least in the 90s, a lot of young people thought “top 40" was horrible. “Alternative” was called that (I think) because it was the alternative to top 40...

Yes exactly. Bios is a very simple form of operating system. Something to watch for interrupts, interface with the car and update the graphics.

Nah.. I haven’t been able to find specs on it, but this would be running some very simple custom operating system. Hardware may be similar to arcade games of the era but cheaper.

Okay that screen is pretty great. Also the shitload of buttons instead of a wiper stalk.

Now playing

I honestly hope there is a homage to Patrick Stewart leading the charge, dog in arms.

But it’s so much easier to quickly write an outraged response on twitter and dig in your heels than ponder and reflect on the nuance.

I read this years ago... I think it still roasted everyone alive in the stadium, though it didn’t destroy the city as intended.

Nope. Trains need very slow grade changes - raising the tracks, say 2 feet, would mean changing the track for a long distance before and after, taking it out of commission for weeks or months. The railroad company owns the tracks and aren’t going to spend the $millions to fix a problem that isn’t theirs.

This has been suggested before - but where to put it? The bridge is right at the intersection and there is a lot of legitimate truck traffic going by on the street running parallel. Those trucks would hit the pipe all the time. If you put the pipe by the bridge; it’s too late.

Sewers flow via gravity, so they’d have to dig up and replace the sewer for a long while past the bridge. $millions

Most chassis are still steel and can’t replace that - car is finished. It’ll come down to how far off spec the steel is - is it unusable or just a little bit off.

I had sunfire GT (not this one, but similar), it was the better looking of the trims with the wheels and body kit.
