CX-3 is smaller than the 3 hatch. It’s based on the mazda2. Not much in the way of cargo, especially with rear seats up.

As an ad photographer I assure you the blame can be placed on the art director for this. They likely settled on that as a luxury car, then the comp was probably drawn that way with the car carefully placed for the negative space. But, when on set, they would’ve discovered the problem and decided turning the car around…
