I've never seen Once Upon A Time, but I'm a huge Robert Carlyle fan. Is he one of the main characters, or just occasional support?

Oh, I don't disagree with you. At least down here in New Zealand, the body that classifies films is applying legislation and the identities of it's officials and their decisions are matters of public record. Can't say any of the above about the MPAA - which, IMO, is the poster child for how not to do industry…
Well, perhaps. Then again, the MPAA and Lionsgate apparently had no problem exposing children to extreme child/teen abuse in The Hunger Games... as long as you digitally cleaned up the blood splatter first. Which, IMO and YMMV, is more fraked up and harmful to children than anything in Dredd or Battle Royale.
At least in the UK, add "Only being available in 3D in 90+% of cinemas". I was willing to put up with it to see the film, but really, this is the last time.
I think the rating hurt it a lot. For some reason, most R rated action films just don't do well anymore.
Another thing - I wonder if the media reports of the director being locked out of the editing bay put people off, or didn't make a difference either way. Serious question.
This is why it's a little surprising that Game of Thrones did so well.
So, in regards to Kick Ass 2, what was in the comic that would cause an NC-17 rating?
You can make an argument for Arizona and the like because deserts aren't exactly a stone's throw from Cardiff.
Apparently Stephen Moffat is heavily involved in Sherlock Holmes, so he splits his time between the two and since both shows share the same audience (haven't seen it myself) which is one of the reasons for the second year in a row the DW season is split.
JJ Abrams has had a string of disappointing works (Cloverfield, Super 8, ending of LOST, and Star Trek) so it's not like he's gold or anything
Can we just stop attaching JJ Abrams to every Scifi/Fantasy show on television already? The world would be a much better place.
But she thought he was just a Matrix-y act of wish fulfillment ("Gorgeous, adores me and barely says a word. What does that say about me?"). So many classic Who companions ended up leaving to follow some guy, I can't help but wonder if there's a room in the Tardis full of wedding presents. "Oh, a sonic toaster…
Because, contrary to popular opinion, the planet Earth is not the center of the universe? :)
Is Doctor Who basically just a series of unhappy endings?
Deflecting laser beams with rhythmic pelvic thrusting? Most. Awesome. Superpower. Ever.
Co-signed. The world would be a better place if there was much more random horsey-dancing in public and less fussing 'n' feuding.
High-quality candy is a much under-recognized hallmark of civilization. Really. :)
Also, if I was the proprietor of IO9 and the managing editor had buried the lead on a scoop like that, I think we'd be having a "hey, everything OK with you?" lunch meeting-slash- performance review. :)
Is it just me, or is the truncated order this (final) season actually a pretty good thing? I totally agree with Charlie Jane that the "case/monster of the week" has tended to be the most unsatifying aspect of the show, not least because (I suspect) it was a compromise with a network understandably nervous of whether…
