Which begs the question... Were you more inclinded to do things that earned tickets, to find this out? lol

Guilty.
“Check out your car”, as-in, they liked your ride and wanted to see the hydraulics? Or because you looked like a problem that warranted attention?
Probably military. I have a few friends with both Alaska and Hawaii plates that moved and eventually settled in different parts of the country.
There are probably nicer words to use, but definitely stupid, if forced to pick.
Having driven in FL, it’s pretty ridiculous. A sea of cars with flashing lights, sitting in bumper-to-bumper traffic...
But it doesn’t have to be true for all vehicles. Enough vehicles disable the turn signals, and when dozens upon dozens of vehicles have flashing/brake lights, a particular Audi driver using their signal (or not) doesn’t change the above.
Luminance isn’t the issue, intensity is regulated for motor vehicles. Turn your lights on and you meet the criteria.
Their inability to drive in inclement weather isn’t changed by flashing lights. Your flashers are confusing, because now people don’t know if you’re turning, if you’re stopped in a hazardous situation, if you’re experiencing some malfunction and intend to pull over, or if you’re just struggling to see out of your…
Indeed, these people act like they’re driving 18-wheel trucks with a limited turn radius or something. Locking the wheel is usually enough to get through the turn, but they couldn’t be bothered with it.
If you’re going to tailgate, also be damn sure you can stop faster than the vehicle in front of you.
Depends on the car. At that speed, wind resistance is in effect and letting off the throttle in gear can cut enough speed to be within reason.
I really really wish people would learn to coast.
I think the other problem is that you have people who commute to the area from other states, in a nice (horrible) mix of differing, localized driving styles, compounded by all the various rules and cameras found in DC.
Why? Anyone around you is driving in the same storm and your flashers don’t offer any unique information.
I’d go as far as to say they shouldn’t be used unless your vehicle is stopped, or you’re warning of some obstruction that’s causing you to be stopped.
It would come across as indifference, in which case, I’d be more likely to steer clear. Nothing personal, which I think is something people need to realize.
I usually roll my eyes at analogies on the internet, but I enjoyed this one. Thanks for the post.
Lexus cars look fine. They don’t photograph as well, but they are nice looking in-person.
I’d give it time. Decades of ICE motors have trained us to instinctively want air intakes on the front, but from a functionality perspective, it’s horrible and contradictory to aerodynamics and how fuel-efficient (or fast cars) should work.
