For real. In trying to convey to students that politics simply concerns human interactions that involve both power and conflict, I’ve seen too many of them fail to grasp that. I suppose it doesn’t help that in everyday speech we hardly ever specify what facet of politics we are talking about at any given time.

Review bombs and death threats go a bit beyond expressing disappointment. And not having absolutely all of the Pokémon available in this one game really isn’t that big of a deal.

By the same token, my enjoyment of the game does not prevent another from continuing to be unhappy. Is there a reason so many of you feel the need to convince us that, actually, we’re not enjoying it?

I agree, Natalie. I’m fan who was enamored of Red/Blue/Yellow, and then didn’t return until Y. I just want to enjoy the new monsters they design for each subsequent game, but these petulant assholes feel a need to make it known at every turn that support for this game is like support for war crimes or some nonsense.…

Holy shit, this drives me up the goddamn wall. I’m playing Monster Hunter: World for the first time, so we’ll see how that goes. Hoping my buddy will serve as a bit of a sherpa for me.
