“Unitasker”.... spoken like a true disciple of the Church of AB. Not being snarky - just never hear that word in any other context.

That’s pretty subjective, isn’t it? I’ll freely admit that those 3 should be in the top 5, but my particular order would be Bowie > Clinton > Prince. I’d personally put Jeff Lynne and Stevie Wonder in the top 5 as well..... I guess mine would be Bowie > Wonder > Clinton > Lynne > Price.

I posted this on another forum:

I’ll just leave this here.

USAF obviously never learned the basic premise of project management:

TIL of at least one base where USAF and USN coexist... tail codes on the 15's in the picture indicate NAS JRB New Orleans... no USAF tail codes exist for NAS Lemoore, so I’m guessing that this is just a stock picture.

Why couldn’t this work the same way? Instead of having her legs crossed, have her foot (or feet) dangling on the floor on the outside of the circle, with a gentle push of the foot pushing the foot side of the chair up, with the weight of the chair & person providing the opposite motion?

Interesting watching the circle-jerk going on in the comments section.... But if I, as a laissez faire capitalist / constitutionalist libertarian suggest that more government control of anything is never a good idea, I get shouted down, and treated as if I just took a big greasy shit on the dance floor in the middle

Not if they’re not released from a sub to start out with... or if everyone *thinks* there’s a sub there and expends resources hunting for it, when in reality, there’s no carrier vehicle there, and the drone they saw taking off is being controlled from tens or hundreds of miles away.

To be fair though, he weighed the rice in grams. One of the big bonuses of the metric system is that the units are (mostly) interchangeable (for lack of a better term). 400ml of water = 400 grams. Weight and volume (specifically of water) are consistent, specifically because the standard for weights and volume are

Specifically means “extended operations” - which just specifies which planes have been certified for long over water operations, with portions of the flight farther distances from possible divert airports.

I thought this graphic was pretty well done, and apropos for this moment:

So... pretty much any recovery, right? These are fighter jocks we’re talking about here!

Ouch. That’s gonna leave a mark on some of the F-35 apologists.

Here’s how to get it: link

Have you seen this? It’s the same basic theory, but minus the elevator.

I don’t think anybody knows what the $564M means. According to this page, all of the bids came in between $10B and $11B, but the Air Force pudgeted $23.5B for the whole project (they’re budgeting for cost overruns?).

Agreed, but spreading the development cost around, the price was over 2B$ per airframe. It’ll be interesting to see what the unit price for F-35's ends up being when they’re done... but I bet the B-21 will top both of them. The newest whiz-bang stuff will end up being more and more expensive.

N-G was supposed to make 132 B-2's, and ended up making 21. The Air Force is planning on buying 80-100 B-21's. How many will that actually turn out to be?

Not bad, but I personally like this one better...
