If you have a stiffer rear sway and you kind of modulate the throttle it helps keep the nose pointed in on a turn. I have a second gen MS3 (yeah, both gens had LSDs). You just cant expect most FWD cars to power through mid corner, it takes a bit of finesse. Despite the limitation, I still think most of us aren’t good

You didn’t mention this but one reason the flat four is, relatively speaking, more popular is better cooling, at least for air cooled engines.

Now I will google dolphin hard-on. Thanks!

Uhh, no way. Rhinos are. They literally have armored skin and a giant battering ram.

One man’s torture is another man’s pleasure.

I believe it’s “All your cakes are belong to us.”

This is terrible. But being a man-child (and also pilot) I’m in favor of all things airplane, and also letting people do what they want on their own property as a general rule. It probably goes without saying, but

Nice, thanks for finding that! Also.... rear entry... I can’t not laugh at that.

This might be a dumb question, but would Ford’s Transit line not be a really good platform for this?

I read this as “big honking butts” the first time. Then I saw your screen name. And there was much rejoicing.

But the evaporative cooling can do wonders for jacking up boost in FI cars without needing expensive secondary injection systems :(

“This install is easy, it only takes X hours, anyone can do it.”. Started turbo install in June... finished in November...Murphy’s law in full effect.

Ahh - that’s a really good point. Ours had all seasons on it until like last week, when I swapped on some General Altimax (winters). So I haven’t really factored that in with the above numbers.

I think it’s a two part thing, the temp of the battery IS important, but you’re right, all of those other things add up too. Again, my experience is for the Volt, but I would imagine it’s a similar deal with the Bolt. Seat heaters can actually make the car more comfortable with less energy than the climate control

If it’s anything like the Volt (I’ve got a 2013 for pulling commuting duty) the difference is about a 25% penalty when cold. The Volt gets about 38-40 miles (first gen but with the 16.5 kWh battery) when it’s warm, and about 29-31 miles when cold. My guess is the bolt may be a little better as it likely has newer

The hardware failure referenced above I think was likely addressed in VWP-13-05. Engine Exhaust Flap Warranty Extension. I thought it was weird at the time that there was a valve in the exhaust. I’m not sure if that’s common place in diesel engines or not though. My understanding is it was some sort of waste gate

Um - I don’t really give a shit what you think, but I would like to point out that in a two party system, that’s pretty much exactly how that works out. So you voted libertarian... congratulations... you took 4 econ classes in college...

Someone else may have a better answer, but my guess is an inertial navigation system. Start at a known point, and super sensitive accelerometers (or some such wizardry) figure out the rest as you go. Particularly useful if you are flying in areas with little or no GPS/GLONASS coverage.

I think you missed the part where I said I’m a pilot, so I’m not afraid to fly... at least that’s what I tell everyone. Wildfires are dangerous, no doubt, but potentially risking the flight crews life vs. letting property burn? The point is, as a pilot, you simply don’t take the extra risk. End of story. There are
