Most books are too linear. Plus, I only read books in multiplayer now and days, mostly for achievements.

I'm going to argue against this. A true master takes opportunity and artistic merit and makes it into a successful endeavour. Example : Ken Levine made Bioshock, and now is making Bioshock Infinite. Another is New Vegas. Fallout 3 did great, and so New Vegas was born from the original studio and was pretty amazing.
Defenders, keep firing your weak arguments. You can defend the Japanese industry all you want. But I'm watching the japanese industry and rooting for the best. Sadly, they're not delivering.
I totally agree with you. Every review of Shadows of the Damn is HUGE. 5 stars! MUST BUY! Best game out in 2011! But because of their failure to advertise and make it mainstream, it fades into the shadows.
Also, I did a bit of research. LA Noire made 100 million in profit. So next argument please. [goo.gl]
I'm sorry, but Japanese companies are falling like flies. There's very few that even stand up without either being a merger or making games that cater to die-hard fans.
Apples = money to make 2 or 3 original games. Oranges = laying off your staff.
Not at all. You still have to make money to survive. And if Okami wasn't Capcom, but say like, a smaller japanese studio, then that studio would be dead by now. Capcom is only surviving because of Marvel Vs. Capcom and Resident Evil (which is pretty much as close to a bald marine on steroids as other games.)
Top selling means they're making money to make new games. I'm annoyed that great japanese developers are going broke because frankly, their games don't sell anymore.
Space Pirates and Zombies scratched my itch for a while. But onto a new game!
That was a really cool comic. Come to think of it, I've never really seen Ganon 'do evil' outside of kidnapping Zelda. Maybe outside of creating the Dark World in Link to the Past. But it's not like he's trying to destroy the world.
Wow. I'm very surprised at a lot of these comments who just outright bash western game engines. "Unreal looks like shit." "Those trailers suck."
There's explosions, which falls in the category of violence.
I was chatting with some guy - Big guy - who mostly talked about waiting for Madden 12 and Battlefield 3. I asked if he'd ever be interested in a game like Skyrim. Apparently this guy never even heard of it. "It's like Oblivion. Or Morrowind. Elder Scrolls?"
Not to mention the ENTIRE town of Bethesda, of which I think Bethesda is based on.
Scrolls of Scrollcraft : Scrolls of the Scrollking. Its sad that I laughed at my own joke. :|
Minecraft needs to beef up it's engine before it can make a proper Simpsons intro. GET ON IT!
Ah. It wasn't much good.
My eyes were glued to the PS3 version. Man it looks so nostalgic! I think we have a winner!
? Is this an lame attack on the ESRB, a self-regulated organization whose primary goals are to provide parents with tools to help judge a game's content?
