*that* scene with Lea Thompson in the Howard film was a seed of sexual awakening for many people....I mean, somebody told me that...yeah.   um.

Growing up, my dad used to take us to this place (now demolished to make room for new exit ramps) called Gary’s Farm House a short walk from his place. Sitting at the counter with dad and his coffee-drinking buddies, eating a pretty okay cheesesteak sandwich you had to use a knife and fork with, and being on a first

Played a gig off the harbor in Baltimore this summer; the scooters there were more an impediment to pedestrian and road traffic than anything else, besides being an eyesore just lying around.

Cummings was one of the good ones. He’ll be missed.

I had a 2013 for a couple of years, and even with the 4 speed automatic I was saddled with (no manuals on the lot, and I needed a car after having one totaled out from under me), it was fun to toss around in the “slow car fast” sort of way. I imagine the manual version would be nice and sprightly. I only got rid of it

only if there’s a sex scene involving red licorice ropes and Ravel’s “Bolero”

could probably save some dough on a Geo Storm, if you’re able to find one that’s not completely deteriorated....

spent quite a bit of time absolutely geeking out about one of these at C&C last year.  #win.

you *like* raisins...

One of my locals’ (Isley Brewing in Richmond Virginia) flagship brew is their Choosy Mother Peanut Butter Porter; its actually pretty damned delicious; not particularly sweet, but the peanut flavor on the back-end really works.

I still dig Werewolf By Night’s civilian identity being “Jack Russell”.  That just works.

Rax?  There’s a blast from the past.  Used to hit that in Central Pennsylvania all the time as young child, as my dad really dug it.

Sci-fi/filk/comedy musician Tom Smith published some pretty decent parody lyrics last week; knowing Tom, he’ll have a recording out very shortly....

I expect nothing less from the male lead from “Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death”....I’m still astonished at that particular career trajectory.

we can always use more Fancy Dan...

to quote the quote from Pelosi in the post above:

my guy (in a safe D but still conservative district adjacent to Spanberger’s) came out in favor today on social media.  This scandal, I think, is the one that’s going to stick...desired outcome not guaranteed, of course. :-\

neither did Ben Orr...

Having grown up nearby, I can attest that this guy’s “humor” is pretty much standard practice in/around Mechanicsburg, where people are afraid to cross the river into Harrisburg for fear of encountering someone non-white.

high school/college Kav might’ve submitted for inspection; he seemed to be very into whipping it out at any opportunity (which leads me to remember, fondly, the comments of the writers of the book/piece on Fresh Air yesterday, talking about how young Kav clearly had no game).
