Can you name a single authoritarian policy enacted by the current administration?
Can you name a single authoritarian policy enacted by the current administration?
Yeah mean pushrods, manual transmissions, light weight rear wheel drive all championed by corvettes aren’t tried, true and simple?
Agree to disagree. The only fair way to distribute a natural resource is in the free market. The pickup truck is the most popular vehicle in the USA. Forcing car manufacturers to stop buildjng it in favor of small cars would be an economic disaster. Most people don’t have to buy new cars, and if they can’t buy a truck…
So you switched from efficient to cleaner vehicles, two very different things. Going back to your original argument
You seem to be missing the point, automakers will always fight against more regulation. They are in the business of selling what the customer wants. I come from a farming community and those 90's and 2000's airbags were the worst thing on a farm truck, because all you would need to do is hit a big bump driving through…
Airbags were made mandatory 1998, 1996 Chevy cavalier, 96 Ford escort, 96 Ford Explorer all had airbags. I haven’t found a 96 vehicle without airbags. So why did the government need to make them mandatory again?
I’m against government bailouts. Should have let them fail or let investors bail them out.
I’m against government bailouts, creates more inefficiency and if they know they have a safety net then there is no consequences for execs to burn the company to the ground.
The government needs to regulate emissions because the market cannot correct for it because they affect a third party to the transaction of a car; but MPG is different then emissions. I think I should be afforded the choice to buy a gas guzzler that I only commute 20 miles a week in and burn less gas then a Prius…
You’re crazy every single one of those things were invented in the private capitalist market before the government required them. They were all popular features that became common before regulation. Regulation that now makes it next to impossible to start a car company. The emissions are the only thing the government…
Ahem, the government should have never bailed out anybody. That’s how you get rid of inefficiency.
You act like the government is better at running a car company then the actual car companies. Why force car companies to make products no one wants? Notice how vehicles keep getting more expensive and not necessarily more durable?
I’m not sure I follow you. From the article it is clear to me that Toyota has a rev matching system for the manual transmission, that is different then a “synchro”. Seems you need to look up what a synchronizer is https://auto.howstuffworks.com/manual-transmission-synchronizers.htm.
Its has custom exhaust and engine tuning to make it sound like the movie! That will be hard to replicate in the after market.
Synchros synchronize the front shaft of the transmission to the rear shaft. They can’t synchronize the engine. The clutch and your left foot have to synchronize the engine.
Because it eliminates the challenge. Its like god mode in a video game, gets boring very quickly.
Interesting. Just looked up the LT4 weight and low and behold it’s 529 lbs fully dressed. So the Cadillac weighs the same as the LT4, which is still good.
Where is it stated that the new Cadillac motor is smaller and lighter then a lt4 or lt5? The Cadillac V8 is DOHC which is much heavier in design then a pushrod motor in the case of an LT4 and LT5. And I’m sure if you add the piping and turbos they would easily outweigh a super charger.
It’s a billlet motor so no water jackets which makes it easier to chop off two cylinders.
Rotating mass doesn’t consume energy, it only stores it. The loss of energy comes from brake heat but with rengenerstive braking the wheel energy isn’t complelty wasted. Also as heavy as Teslas are the rotating mass isn’t significant.
