All the heroes are pushed outside their comfort zones.  Take J'onn for instance.  To get the information the league needed he had to break Kragger and a couple of back-handed slaps wasn't going to do the trick.  He broke the man's mind.  That was creepy and as we saw later in JLU, permanent .

There was a greater emphasis on historical epics and swordplay flicks last decade than martial arts movies.  The Rebel (2007, Truc 'Charlie' Nguyen) hasn't been mentioned yet and is supposed to be pretty good.  Otherwise swordplay movies like House of Flying Daggers or Seven Swords are worth a look.  Oh, it's from
