This will always be my favourite game. Not that I played many more after this one, at least not as religiously, determined to uncover every secret. I think this game found the perfect balance between being easy to grasp and hard to master. The 3D of Ocarina Of Time made it just a bit too fussy for teenage me, where as

I acknowledge that Facebook is useful for all the reasons you mention. What I object to is the idea that those of us who aren't interested in it are just being contrarian hipster douches, as the OP implies.

I had an album of their's since 2006-ish - Searching For A Former Clarity - and while I enjoyed it, I didn't listen to it a lot becasue it was VERY tied to the specifics of the Bush years, and there are also lots of self-conscious lyrics about the punk scene of the time. But songs like 'Don't Lose Touch' still slay me.

Ah bullshit. TV has actual original content that can be entertaining and informative. People without a TV are genuinely missing out.
Whereas Facebook is just a service I don't need. I can connect with my friends via phone and email and in person, and I seek out news stories from sources I trust. So what good is

True. I learned about Big Star because R.E.M. kept talking up Third as an influence.

Oh, I love Barrett's solo stuff, but the way they deliberately chose off-key and rambling takes of 'Dark Globe' and 'No Good Trying', it feels like they're deliberately playing into the legend of 'Syd the tragic nutcase'. Whereas Piper At The Gates of Dawn is unburdened by any of that.

That is true, but IMO Bryter Layter is even more perfect :-)

It took me a while to get used to Chris Bell's high pitched vocals on that track. But now I can't imagine it any other way.

I bought he first two records on a twofer CD that only cost AUS$10. That might be out of print now that remastered versions are available, but I used to see it in second hand stores everywhere. One of the best purchases I ever made.

I have to say, I never really got the appeal of this record; I mean, compared to the other two incredible albums. I get enjoying each of the three for different reasons (as I do), but I don't understand why people consider this one their masterpiece. Compared to the pure craftsmanship and sunny vibes of the debut, and

You're thinking of Season 6, when Joss was off making Firefly and Marni Noxon was in charge. Just a dreadful slog with everyone out of character. Season 7 felt like it got things back on track, for me.

"I've seen the future brother. It is murder."

That would require some degree of self-reflection on their part.

Yeah, but that was drowned out by misinformation, trivia and BS on an unprecedented scale.
But, yeah, Facebook is essential because, like, it's just so easy to send out mass invites. Totally worth it.

If there's one good thing that could come from this travesty of an election, it would be the death of this echo-chamber clickbait Internet economy, where hot takes and memes take precedence over actual journalism and discussion. That's how Trump rode to power really. It's time for something different.

Yeah, that's the one.

Given the election results, this article should be preserved in a museum as the epitome of smug, superficial, social-media driven clickbait journalism.

Eh. When I was a teen in the 90s I listened mostly to Billy Joel and Van Morrison, so what do I know?

I love love LOVE this movie, buuuuuuuuut…

It bugs me that people are calling Westworld a 'mystery box' show.
A mystery box story is ALL about the mystery. Like Lost was entirely driven by the question of 'what's up with this island?'
