It's funny: I bristle a little bit at the mention of "white culture," but then I realize the one thing that I have in common with all white people in all majority-white societies is privilege. We're a pretty big club.

Haven't read the whole thing, but the introductory anecdote (about the angry white man) could easily be describing the reactions of certain readers here. The more they insist that racism isn't a thing, the more obvious it becomes that it is.

You have misunderstood my comment completely. It was about you, not them.

I just thought it was a bit amusing that you'd assume that if women weren't telling you about harassment, then it wasn't happening. Women have very good reasons for not talking about it. Especially when the one who's asking is part of the problem.
