Wish I could upvote this to infinity.

If you imagine a petulant George Michael singing it to some dude he just blew in a public toilet, it becomes fucking hysterical.

Some brunettes can rock fake blonde hair, like Madonna, but others don't. Farrell is too Black Irish and Alba's Latina complexion made it impossible to take them as natural blondes. I think if a character is supposed to be a natural blonde, it works best if they already are blonde or were towheads as kids but became

The problem is why would any baron keep to such a ban? Guns are popular because anyone can use them and they allow you to kill at a greater distance with less risk for yourself. I can't see people willingly giving up such an advantage, especially in pseudo-medieval feudalistic society.

One last bit of history/background stuff re. this ep:

Tibby, oh Tibby, my heart is a mess
I don't' have a protective shell over my chest
So people can hurt me with the cruel things they do
But somehow, sweet Tibby, I know you hurt too…

It might get publicity, but that doesn't translate into it being a success. Remember "The Last Airbender"?

They used the well-researched and realistic video for "Walk Like An Egyptian" as a source. People need to stop whining.

In real life, you're completely right. On the show, it made the plot seem out of left field.

Word. They and Finan are as vital as the future lady loves of Uhtred and kids.

IIRC, in the books he finds out her death after the battle ends. I imagine they decided to do it this way on the show for more drama. It bugged me how they did it, but I think because I'm a book reader, it had less of an impact on me, but yeah I can see why some would see it at fridging.

I think that's pretty realistic. Uhtred would be in his early 20s and most men in that demographic have had at least 3 partners.

I was thinking that Beocca is taking on some of Pyrlig's role. Who would you say is the third?

She never acted like an abuse victim. Yeah, I know she'd put on an act around people, but I never got the feeling she was scared of him or anything. Contrast her with Carol in the first season, and your theory is much more likely.

And Alfred's small smile that that.

Yeah, you might be right. I think Alfred feels as if he has 3 kids, not 2.

The tonic might have had something that worked like aspirin. People have used willow bark for the same purpose for thousands of years. A good strong dose plus the mud definitely would do the trick.

Of course the Cornwall raid was more than enough to damn him. Like Alfred needs a bunch of angry Welsh on his ass when he's fighting the Danes on all fronts.

I'll at least go through the first book. But yeah, it is already pretty dark.

I'm starting the Warlord Chronicles and I find I just can't get into it. It seems much more of a hostile to women world than in the Saxon stories. I'm 90 pages in and there seems to be more reference to rape than in the entirety of The Last Kingdom. It's funny cuz since I'm Irish I thought I'd identify with the Celtic
