The complexity of GoT isn't unrealistic, but the constant brutality and misery is. The Saxon Chronicles are more realistic in that regard. In tonight's ep, you saw how brutal the Vikings were to their enemies, yet Uhtred's bullheaded bravery endeared him to Ragnar to the point of him becoming his adopted son.

Por que?

For those who may be confused, a bit of historical background (WARNING-9TH CENTURY SPOILERS): The Viking army we see at the beginning is the Great Heathen Army, who were said to be lead by Ragnar Lothbrok's sons Halfdan Ragnarsson, Ivar the Boneless, and Ubba. Tonight we met Ubba, but I don't know if the show will

I'm German and those Aryan fuckers freak me out.

What about staying in an obviously ugly hotel?

Does sitting there with my mouth open in abject horror count?

I have to mute the "music". It makes it easier to watch. Though I'm not really watching so much as playing Candy Crush but yeah.

Also note that every character that has queer tendencies is a villain. I never watched SOA; is that a common Sutter trope?

One thing Saxons and Celts can agree on is hating the French. I'm guessing the gross incest twins are actual half-sisters to gross Piers since he shagged them. If I were French, I'd prolly be annoyed at this, but I was always Team Harold Godwinson so eh. Still finding the Baroness' story way more interesting than Sir

Apparently Ofelia is a legit Spanish/Italian/Portuguese variant spelling: http://www.behindthename.co…
As for Madison, I have no idea. Sometimes I think if I have kids I'll name them stuff like John, Mary, William, or Jane because it would stand out much more than the trendy names people think of these days.

I have been champing at the bit for The Last Kingdom since I heard about it becoming a series. The parent material is great, and it seems like they are working really hard on making it accurate and good. So I'm very hopeful it will be good and that it will have several seasons so we get to meet grown up Aethelfaed.

I've been on record saying that the spider kids are better than Zach. After tonight, I have decided on even more things/people that are better than Zach:

I like Hannigram and Stucky, because they sound very close to existing words.

Heh, true but the costuming makes me wanna cry.

If the Baroness were the show's main protagonist, it would be better. Then the focus would be on who she can trust and ally with. Can she outwit Medieval Vampire Bill and his plotting? Is Sir Manpain on her side? Watch her struggle with being a Welsh woman who is surrounded by English, etc. Much more interesting than

I'm pleasantly surprised that they went with French accents for the king and Gaveston. That was a nice historically accurate touch. I'm guessing they went light Brit for the other accents (except for Slavic Leela) so people wouldn't have too hard of a time understanding them. Still annoying. They could do lighter

CHOKE ON THEM!

The show is supposed to be during Edward II's reign, so we're talking early to mid 13th century, so it would work.

Black people have been in Britain since Roman times: https://en.wikipedia.org/wi…
Also, NotSembene is a moor, which means he only had to travel from Spain to Wales. So I can accept that. There should be a mention of it, though.
