We are living in wonderful times.

Apples and Oranges with such a comparison. They are both action movies with the main focus on action and involve a tower. One is a mostly a martial arts film with some gunplay and gang overtones and the other is a sci-fi film with emphasis on the world and the combat and conflicts it contains.

What you're suggesting is that X-Com is smart, and all XCOM did was removed some concepts and elements in attempts to make it easier. This is simply not the case; the removal and modifications of some elements have gains that aren't really visible right away.

Simply put, I think Neotokyo has the best looking art in any mod ever. It may not be perfectly streamlined but it does wonders for the game.

This is surprisingly true. Valve hires and envelops all the people and companies for their IPs. It's an offer they can't refuse because the company is extremely well ran, allowing their ideas to reach their fullest potential.

The idle talk was nice but yeah, it was pretty bad with a slapped on M rating for more badditutde. They made fun of COD so much yet they were turning into COD. The first game was basically Battlefield translated into Single Player with all the freedoms and open arenas the original game had. Hopefully, the show and

Which is cool and more acceptable. I don't necessarily hate the idea of a shooter XCOM as long as

Well something about the FPS/TPS genre is that there are base mechanics that are embedded in the genre and just make sense overall, like iron sights and cover. You can't be called a copy cat for following it. Yet, it helps bridge the gap in making games that run off the "winning streak" of other games.

What I hope is XCOM will bring some kind of revolution to strategy overall.

Reminded me too.

I don't understand flood hate. I found them to be fun targets, especially to headshot and cut up.

It's like how in Professor Layton, everyone finds puzzles as common activity. It's not "I have this real life problem with this vase, can you help?" It's "That vase reminds me of a puzzle." DOA, everyone is a fighter (which happens to be it's slogan at E3 "I'm a fighter") and it's a common activity. They try to fit

Mouth open Totoro is unsettling.

When I played it at PAX, it was totally alright. I was skillfully keeping enemies at bay. My biggest trouble was getting cut accuracy. I wanted to decapitate people, but it was a little too hard.
