Can’t deny, that was a little cliché. Doesn’t Marvelous Mrs. Maisel kind of do what you refer to? A female character who wants to go beyond the limits of her assigned place in society but for once still kinda revels in the activities of 50's domesticity. Maybe knitting is among those things.

For a second I was convinced that I saw the sparkle of a predator in June’s eyes, and I was hoping she was straight up going to stab Fred. There was so much attention put on Fred’s physical frailness, I took that as a sign. Too hopeful maybe. But I’m happy that we had an episode end on an uptick for once, even if it

Sure, but also remember that last season we learned that Serena didn’t see it going so far that she’d be silenced, and that she has regrets next to her obviously monstrous side. But that’s not where the grey dynamic comes from, it comes from the suggestion, at least I think the episode’s suggesting that, that shit

I’m still confused as to how that opening scene between Dolores and Bernard fits within the larger narrative. How does it chronologically, for instance? Obviously this is a flashback, so does it imply that Dolores was self-aware for a much longer time than we previously thought? Were Dolores and Bernard both designed

Dating while dealing with mental issues? Hah, I wish...

In a way Serena in this regard is the perfect, and sometimes sympathetic, face of the “Leopards Eating People’s Faces Party” voter. She never thought they’d eat her face. Welp, there ya go Serena; they did.

And I think there’s another angle to the “First Blood” title too, namely the implication that the real radicalisation of the Gilead movement started when Serena and their aid got shot. I think. There was a very interesting and grey dynamic going on in those flashbacks. The obvious hypocrisy of Fred’s “she has a right

As someone who’s also a sucker for samurai, shogun and ninja I’ll readily admit how much this episode made me realise how much I hanker for a nice and violent, live-action Edo-Japan TV show with this kind of production value.

That sounds much more likely than I’d ever care to admit.

It’s why these days I use the word “compelling” over “entertaining” as to why I engage with a certain piece of media. There’s many brilliant films, shows, novels, games, pieces of music, etc etc that are all hardly entertaining but are incredibly compelling. And I often don’t merely want to be entertained anyway.

I have one question above any other; what did Martha give her during the final few minutes of the episode? We heard the crinkle of paper, something changed hands for sure. But what? Word of the Canadians?

Cool, thanks. Sorta like an ad-hoc forum thing then. Yeah I reckon that at least looked more in place during the Disqus days. I suppose it looks a little odd for me because I’m so divorced from cable TV, so I don’t really associate politics with TV anymore.

I just have to ask a thing. I’ve seen these posts of yours quite often, and I still don’t really get why you post them? Especially because they’re always seem to be posted under articles that have nothing to do with politics. Why are you doing this? It’s a little odd.

“How he doesn’t immediately freeze to death is beyond me. “

Yeah it’s a strange choice isn’t it? Especially when her co-star Danai Gurira is such an ace-in-the-whole choice for a The Killer remake. She has that fierce ruthlessness that fits perfectly. I can see Nyong’o in something like a... Rocketeer remake? I dunno somehow that was the first movie I thought of. Also kind of

Obvious givens can still be genuine negatives. Just goes to show that projects like this have inherent flaws. There’s nothing silly about pointing that out, and has nothing to do with looking down at the genre.

“ limp-wristed men”

As you mention the excellent sound effects, did your copy of the show also have weird, almost distorted sound effects when they were walking on shale or was that just me?

Damn Image, how I love your incredibly varied library... Action comics usually aren’t my absolute favourite, but the art of this looks right up my alley. One thing though; this better not be cancelled halfway through. That’s a rather annoying thing with Image sometimes, that they take on so many little, promising

Kinepolis did the same thing with Blade Runner here in Belgium, I was so happy to be able to enjoy that in theatres. It was definitely a movie where the big screen added something. I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed that they’re doing the same thing with 2001, even though it’s not my favourite Kubrick.
