I mean, if you watched that interview, would you give that guy an NBA franchise?

I did not get it.
I love Anthony Rizzo for this. Beyond the joke he was making for his teammates I think it also allowed for Cubs fans to breathe a sigh of relief.
Seriously the best sports guy on twitter. If he doesn’t do some kind of TV color or studio gig if he wants to every TV producer should be fired.
This is the guy who helped shut down his QB when he tried to unionize.
I feel like every young and fun player at some point becomes an overpaid veteran on the Yankees. Ellsbury, Granderson, now McCutchen.
What happened his last start?
Winning baseball games is not stupid illogical math, it is literally the whole point of the game.
I understand FIP, and I respect sabermetrics. I also understand that as a pitcher gets older the speed of his pitches and often the control of his pitches lessens. Therefore is more likely to give up more HRs and walks. So of course an older STILL GOOD Jon Lester has a worse FIP then a really good young Jon Lester.
Not to get all Goose Gossage on you here, but if you think Lester is having a “bad” season this season based on his current FIP then you just aren’t watching the games. As recently as a month ago this guy was having a career year.
Because Gabe Kapler is giving him a shoulder rub with coconut oil I’m assuming?
He better hope he wins some football games this year that’s for sure. Because let’s face it, winning is literally the only thing that matters to these programs.
He wasn’t implying this incident was bad luck, if you reread the original comment he was saying they had bad luck the previous season.
Not going to lie, I saw him his first season play the Mets when he first came up and he struck out so bad, my thought was we have Starlin and this kid Arismendy Alcantara is the real deal, trade this Baez guy before anyone catches wind he has no idea what he is doing at the plate.
I appreciate your level headed appreciation.
This speech is the real reason T.O. didn’t show up.
I grew up hanging out with blacks, Puerto Ricans, Mexicans, selling drugs.
The irony that this rant is going on while the Dodgers pitcher lays down a perfect sacrifice bunt and is congratulated by everyone on the bench is not lost on me.
Most AAA teams have 30-35 man rosters at least. So moving a reliever up a level has zero effect on Rookie ball, AA, etc. because all of those teams have far more than 25 players on their rosters too! Therefore there isn’t this crazy domino effect you are predicting.
But your point was expanding the roster spots by 2-3 guys depletes the talent pool.
