I hope it’s well-founded.
I hope it’s well-founded.
The pool boy who worked at the Fontainebleau! I wonder how many pool boys haven’t been “pressed into service” since its opening in 1954. You can probably count them on one hand, the hand that’s not otherwise busy.
Jim lives, and yet Tammy Faye, the interesting, fun half of the couple, died too soon. When her memoir came out in the 90s she hit the gay bar circuit and was perfectly delightful. I went to one of her appearances/book signings/meet and greets at Barracuda in Chelsea.
I couldn’t think of where to leave this but:
Me too, but I wonder if boxer shorts count. I’m a very Big&Tall™ guy so my boxer shorts have what I estimate is a 5.5" inseam, although that’s an oddly precise measurement for a piece of casual clothing.
I don’t know where Trudie would have gotten hers, since she and Pete lived in Manhattan. Saks, maybe? Or Lord & Taylor?
I’m interested to know why he dresses like Gregory Peck as Atticus Finch in “To Kill a Mockingbird”.
Donald Trump famously boasted that at some dinner he got two scoops of ice cream and others got only one. This was early on in his presidency so that was a warning shot across the bow. He became Donnie Two Scoops. Since even Trump thinks his oldest son is an unlovable moron he almost immediately became Half-Scoop.
Georgetown is also complicit. Ivanka started at Georgetown and transferred to Penn. Eric is a Georgetown grad. Tif went to UPenn undergrad and then Georgetown Law. I assume both schools are smart enough to demand tuition (and maybe other “considerations”) up front and wait for the checks to clear before they offer…
Mel has never, ever displayed that much energy and passion in her life, even when her “boyfriends” promised to pay extra.
I swear I saw a more complete list somewhere. Anyway, here’s the lineup for tonight. Nikki Haley, Gym Jordan, the two St. Louis gun nuts, Half-Scoop, and many more!
You should see the speaker lineup for the RNC. It’s like a latter-day list of those who appeared at Nuremberg rallies AND who were later prosecuted during the Nuremberg trials. It’s handy to have the list though, I suppose, for when the Biden-Harris ticket wins in a few short months and the newly reinvigorated DoJ…
I made Ina Garten’s Lemon Chicken Breasts last night. I could not love Ina Garten more. So simple, almost all of her stuff is, and so delicious. I did this because I miss going to Italy. This is not exactly an Italian dish but they use a lot more lemons than we do. Oh well, maybe one day when this is all over Italians…
Very late but I’m reminded I need to get my Bundt pan out of storage. What did you top your cake with? Is that glaze with green and yellow food coloring?
Very Petit Trianon. It is not normal for an occupant to do a lot of new landscaping around the house they are soon to be evicted from, but I suppose she’s very, very bored, there’s not much else going on in the US, and the taxpayers mysterious “private donors” are picking up the tab so why not.
When I went to college I fell in with a bunch of Texans and they told me about measuring distances in beers and six packs. Because of course you would be drinking beer your entire drive and needed to know how much to provision yourself with.
It’s an excellent return on investment. You put 5 cans away and 30 years later you get 30 cases (720 beers.) That’s 14,300%!
Oh my God.
NBC’s corporate predecessor RCA broadcast their first convention, over radio, in 1924. (RCA made radios and created product to fill the airtime.) In 1925 NBC was formed and NBC broadcast the 1928 convention. 1952 was the first televised convention and NBC covered it.
Jonathan Chait is Jewish. He also went to the University of Michigan which, while a state school, was ranked #25 in the US News & World Report rankings for top colleges and universities. We have thousands of colleges and universities in this country so he went to one in the top 1%, if not top 0.1%.
