Current Pixar standards”? Elemental was a decent movie and I though Turning Red was pretty good. Those and Luca were all fairly original films.

I’ll wait for the third ending, I want to know what really happened to Martin Mull.

“Won’t somebody PLEASE think of the transphobes!”

One of my favorite “that guy” actors. RIP that guy.

Tbh, that disclaimer in parenthesis made me lol.

Ugh, man.  My 8 yo daughter’s favorite singer is Katy Perry, and it annoys me to no end because I dislike her (Perry, not my daughter) so much.  She’s just the fucking worst.  The sad thing is that she actually had a really good singing voice when she’s not singing her own horrible songs.  Her brand of “feminism” is

“I believe in innocent until proven guilty and I believe in justice.”

It’s also a reassurance to the person asking. It lets them go on with their lives. They want to think the person is improving, not that life is hell and they sometimes think about stepping in front of a train.

I don’t think anyone with a chronic illness is surprised by any of this. People love to ask how you’re feeling so that they can congratulate you on being brave/a fighter/etc when you politely just say “fine” and downplay things. People don’t like when you actually acknowledge how much it fuckin’ sucks because that’s

Luca and Turning Red were both brilliant. Soul didn’t quite live up to its potential but was still a good time. Even Elemental was surprisingly good despite its horrible ad campaign.

Luca is very -light-. it’s breezy, it looks super pretty and interesting. It might be a bit more of a “kids movie” than Soul or Turning Red, but it’s absolutely lovely.

Turning Red

I haven’t seen Luca, but Turning Red was a blast, and I liked, Soul, too.

“Elemental" was pretty good too and came out just last year.

I feel like people forget how recent Luca and Turning Red are when talking about Pixar, they obviously got Fuuuuucked by the D+ release but I keep hearing “Pixar has sucked for years!” and then, when reminded of the D+ ones, respond “Oh yeah, those were pretty good actually.”

Seth is constantly making jokes about where they spend their money, so I guess he wasn’t really joking about it!  Goodbye 8G band, hello Animal Flubs!

It ticks all the boxes, doesn’t it? Lazy, out-of-date, out-of-touch, completely lacking in nuance, yet presenting itself so confidently.

Woke-Bait is so 2018, Jacob.

It’s a song about, as our Britt Hayes put it, “a woman being held hostage by some guy who may or may not have drugged her adult beverage.”

i thought the “it was over corrected” hyperlink was to hand-wave that reassessment, but it’s just referring to a John Legend cover. Remember when hyperlinks were used to supplement the context of a sentence with the information it referenced, and not to completely contextualize an oblique reference?
