I haven’t enjoyed this new one as much as past series and I think it is because I am more of a post-silent era person and this is too early film era for me.  My favorites are the ones on the blacklist and the Manson family and how there were connected to Hollywood in so many ways.

I’m not surprised. When growing up, I ran into no shortage of adults who liked to shame kids and some that would outright steal from kids.

In my district, if a kid is short in their account they don’t get the regular tray. They get a bullshit “look at the poor” lunch consisting of a sunbutter sandwich, apple, and milk. It’s better than nothing but still others the crap out of the kids. 

Fuck this cafeteria worker so hard. My family was very poor growing up and we ate via the free lunch program. There were days that dinner consisted of a can of Campbell’s tomato soup and toast—or similar—so sometimes the free lunch and breakfast was about the only protein I got in a day.
