I just started playing this year in January, I’m already up to level 10 :) The game is great for getting you out of the house and doing things. I’ll frequently just go to a new area of town and walk around for hours visiting portals, building fields, etc.

I agree with what you say there, but those moments of joy you get from watching a good hitting pitcher hit are far outweighed IMO by all the innings murdered by the deplorable hitting pitchers.

Players at the other positions are rarely THAT bad at fielding, nowhere near the gap between a batting pitcher and anyone else who can bat. The vast, vast majority of position players are at least quite competent at fielding - how many pitchers can you say that about at the plate? Sure there are some, but not many.
