I believe bigotism like nepotism, but with fat guys instead of nephews.

Yep. I’ll discuss any manner of things, and give an ear to certain concepts (even those pertaining to ::GASP:: Socialism, as there’s some merit to certain aspects). Communism? No. Fuck no.
Now that is a Horse of a different colour.
Communism doesn’t work. Never has, at least not on anything approaching the scale that we’d need.
Not ideal, but Communism is a fucking awful idea that barely works “on paper.”
Let’s not forget Pol Pot. I mean, sure, the labor was awful, and the punishments were ghoulish, but that rice?
By that logic if the U.S. commits war crimes and you don’t leave the country you support war crimes? At that time in history some people never went farther than 10 miles away from where they were born. Expecting them to pull stakes, sell everything, and move 1000 miles is ludicrous.
Honestly, communism can’t get here fast enough, we need to take everything these people have.
You have to understand that prior to the Civil War, most Americans identified with their state more than the country. Think of it kind of like the EU today. They felt allegiance to their state, so it would have seemed more “traitorous” to refuse to fight for your state, North or South.
Quite the contrary. I think this article is talking about THE ONLY issues Americans talk about - because the sexy stuff is all the American media talks about. They’re more interested in reporting the “horse race” (“Is the outcome of this local election “good news” for party X?!?!”) than they are interested in…
The things you mention are both “hot button issues.” And the nature of “hot button issues” is that they are innately things that get people really worked up, but probably don’t directly affect them whatsoever. Both sides callously throw them around to agitate their bases and inspire them to get out and vote, because…
This is the biggest point lost in all these discussions of Uber/Lyft/whatthehellever: there was an established industry already in place, with a 100+ year history, so shitty, that people will choose a service employing rapists, thieves, and murderers.
Is it just me, or has the video been sped up to make it more interesting?
Ohh hey, you wouldn’t happen to live in not-NYC would you?
It’s not even the cleanliness so much as the perpetually “broken” credit card machines, arguments over routes, and getting yelled at/menaced for having the audacity to not pay in cash.
I don’t even care about what a shitty company Uber is or Lyft, or whatever else is out there. When I’m drunk off my ass and I just want a ride home I’d rather go home in a 2 year old Honda Accord that’s clean than an ancient yellow Crown Vic that has 12 years worth of bodily fluids in the backseat.
Honestly, this just reminds me how bad the taxi experience is in my city in that I would still use all of these evil companies rather than be use a taxi.
or Bye Bye Birdie, with all the shots taken a Rosie’s heritage
It’s interesting that people think companies factoring in legal penalties and contract breeches As part of the cost of doing busienss is somehow a recent invention of internet start ups.
