“Meanwhile, I think the cat scratch on my pinky is going to take an extra week to heal after I so kindly smothered it in old, dark engine oil. Maybe I’ll make that into the next pyramid scheme for skincare and get rich enough to buy a Chiron.”

It is almost like they only read the first part of the French revolution and stopped after someone said “liberte fraternite egalite.”
This is literally the opposite of what is happening. Every month, 4.5 million people are brought out of extreme poverty worldwide.
This has been done many of times and never resulted in any advancement. Just lots of purity spirals, gulags, and genocides. Because as soon as you take their shit, you become the rich and you get killed for being a class traitor.
You’ve just touched on the common issue of every proletariat revolution. The killing never stops.
Please leave Marxist pleas to Splinter. Jalopnik is the only site left that doesn’t regularly push annoying and generally bad politics.
Then you should be ecstatic. The gulf is meaningless as wealth isn’t a zero sum game and in the past 20 years, the world has brought 1 billion people out of extreme poverty, cutting extreme poverty worldwide in half.
If you don’t use relative measurements, but objective measurements of wealth, everyone is getting richer. We’ve cut worldwide extreme poverty in half in the past 20 years. Basically, every month for the past 20 years, 4.5 million people were alleviated from extreme poverty.
I was being jokingly naive. I went the same direction.
That’s a late update.
I’m excited about the athletic dedication in my building. We have one called “Only4ViewingWaterSports.”
Aren’t most of the usual winners from some of the poorest places in the world? Regardless of her economic standing in the US, she is likely rich compared to the Kenyans and Ethiopians who usually win this shit.
My 60+ year old dad knocks out first places in his age group all the time in smaller marathons. Usually when he is the only one in his age group. So I guess he also knocks out last places as well.
15 and 8 are not remotely similar. 8 years olds have whatever opinion teachers, tv, and parents give them for anything that isn’t food related.
It isn’t a real service. It is a just a mocked up marketing ploy to sell headsets. Basically, the bullies in their scenario are fake. The takedown is performed on someone who is also operating out of their same group. It is a manufactured bully killed in a manufactured way to eventually sell product.
Can we at least be honest and just say some kids’ parents thought it would be good to politicize their children to force policy the parents want? Because there is no way an 8-10 year old is thinking about this unless their parent pathologically drilled it into them.
Thanks!
Have they patented magnetic board games yet? Because this could end up with one hell of a Risk game on family vacation.
I was referring specifically to Subutai’s raid in force of the Ruslands, Poland, and Hungary in the mid 1200s. I used Golden Horde as a pun, which was stupid given that 100 years later, one of the Mongol empires was called the Golden Horde. This one was definitely successful and only stopped as a result of the death…
I’m thinking specifically of the Mongols. Their push into central Europe basically put them against larger armies of knights that were prepped for the crusades, but got dunked on. The only thing that stopped them was the cultural idea that when the Khan died, all his armies were recalled.
