We're a death-denying culture, which causes a lot of weird issues. One of them being that we have absolutely no idea how to respond to death. Most of us are just pretty sure that being sad and reverent is the only way you're allowed to feel about death.

I absolutely agree. What we do to actors/performers is absolutely horrible, and I think that goes doubly so for youths who happen to be famous.

I think the problem with boycotting V-Day (or attempting to politely ignore it) is that even if you convince yourself that you're totally fine not celebrating, everyone around you insists on poking and prodding at your reasons for ignoring the holiday.
