I would also say I 100% agree that if this show was not focused on Queer/Trans POC and primarily acted by those individuals, that critics would be much less tolerant of some of the weaknesses in the performances.

I do agree that not all of the acting is great. Elektra really overacts a lot of the time, but it is somewhat believable based on her character, and who cares, she’s a joy to watch.
