From personal experience, pretending to be on the phone and screaming did nothing. Shit, we’re taught to scream “fire” when being assaulted because no one responds to “rape.”

You do have the choice to continue being obtuse and insensitive about how much OCD is becoming one of the new things to mock without any understanding. that’s up to you. just remember there are real people in the world with real OCD who may be hurt by it, and live with that if you can. yup, you’re definitely insensitive, then. have a little more empathy for people who are struggling with a serious mental illness that maybe they can’t find the right medication or therapist/support system for and is causing a lot of real suffering in their lives. it’s not cool to make clothing that mocks people like…

all this tells me is that you don’t know anyone personally with OCD, and if you do they probably don’t like you because you’re insensitive about their struggle with mental illness.

Exactly. The sweater is fucking stupid, but the reason why the sweater is made and bought and laughed about is the REAL problem.

I had severe OCD from six until recently. It’s horrible. Not being taken seriously makes it even harder. The sweater is not the worst thing ever, but it’s part of a bigger issue: Not taking mental illness seriously. And that’s something that kills people.

There aren’t any entitled fat girls. The very fact that they are fat and female makes them feel the opposite of entitled. And society reminds them that on a daily basis.

Ugh I have SO many issues with this 90s revival: mock turtlenecks make my (not-short) neck look nonexistent, ribbed shirts are clingy and unflattering, and flared pants require hemming on pretty much everyone... but what length? Heels-length? Flats-length? So stressful and I hate, hate, hate it!

This 90s revival is offending my sensibilities. It does however give me flashes of Kat (Julia Stiles) in 10 Things I Hate About You so... I’ll let this one slide.

I also think that it's imperative that we talk about racial disparities when we talk about this stuff because sexual expectations are just different for WoC. For WW, virginal is the assumed natural state, and expressions of sexuality are seen as liberating (Madonna). For WoC, crass and oversexed is the assumed natural…
