The theory I had was that maybe Tommy’s community was razed by the Fireflies who were looking for both Joel and Ellie, Joel for revenge and Ellie for their vaccine.

Getting a real House of Leaves vibe from What Remains of Edith Finch.

Wow, what a mean spirited reason to want him to make a film.

See, I didn’t read that into it. The guy’s wearing a purple tie and she’s wearing her pearl necklace and they’re both sharing a glass of wine so I figured they got rained out of date night. But that’s the cool thing about these illustrations, we can read different things into it.

From my understanding Duvall has stated that while the experience at the time was horrific she wouldn’t trade it for anything. This was sixteen years ago and she seemed to be in her right mind at the time. Not excusing the horrendous methods he used, just thought that was interesting.

It’s meant to be disturbing and alarming while sticking with the main character’s perspective. He looks like he’s having a great time while the audience can only look on in horror.

Truth be told, I’ve had a hard time getting excited for this game. I think sticking with Corvo and Emily is a mistake that limits the scope of the world it’s set in. I would have preferred an entirely new character who encounters the Outsider.

Beautiful work.

It’s weird but this is the first Thanksgiving that my family has adopted a scorched-earth policy on talking about politics. For my family that’s kind of a huge deal. To keep things steered away from that topic my wife and I actually planned our pregnancy announcement for that day.

Oddly enough I thought Donnie was the only Turtle in those flicks whose design actually kind of worked (minus the broken “nerd” glasses).

Not going to lie, I’ve been ringing the deathbell for Nintendo since the Wii U. Having said that, I’m super excited for this. This is what Nintendo absolutely needs to be doing.

I’ve never been able to enjoy playing with a mouse and keyboard. While I appreciate the mouse more with first person shooters I hate using the keyboard in any gaming capacity.

It just depends on which iteration of the character you choose to go with. I’d go with the John Byrne era/animated series power set where he’s basically invulnerable but can still be beat up. Set it up where bullets don’t hurt you but explosions can take out a bit of your health. Throw in some robots or aliens for

The flying in that game was so good. It’s a dang shame the rest of it wasn’t.

I actually really hope it’s not a prequel. I don’t think I could play through the game knowing ultimately how Marston ends up. Prequels are such a dicey prospect. I’d rather have a whole new protagonist. Heck, you could have Jack Marston be a side character, or even villain, in the new one.

Not that I’m for remakes but a remake of The Shining with him as Jack Torrence would be incredible.

Because if there’s one thing the new Tomb Raider games needed it was more melancholy. Am I right?

I have a feeling Johnson will throw a good few curveballs. I fully expect Rey to become seriously tempted to the dark side to an extent Luke never was. Wouldn’t surprise me if the next installment featured Ren coming back to the Jedi and Rey not being able to stand it. But that’s purely speculation on my part. I think

For the most part I’m in agreement with you. I’m totally fine with unobtrusive product placement or clever product placement (like Wayne’s World) but sometimes fake brands can be fun too so long as it helps tell us something about the world of the movie.

That’s running under the assumption that Batman is a character who is only ever written in one tone.
