I wonder if there is some tactic by not treat someone with the courtesy of their time. During the time that the inept interviewer would spend scanning over the resume for thoughtless questions to ask I would reiterate their job posting with how I will meet each of the requirements, a verbal cover letter if you will.
How hard is it to provide notice that "this position has been filled" via mass email. The candidate is expected to jump through every hoop imaginable, but the courtesy on the other end is somewhat void with most recruiters.
