Most LARPs either have resurrections in some form or allow you to go into game as another character after you've been killed. Also: you can go NPC and play the monsters/townsfolk/whatever which can be fun too.
The cringiness is not a factor when you're actually there. This is probably hard to believe if you've never LARPed but the infamous lightning bolt fight was probably super fun and immersive for the people that were there.
Paintball is as much a LARP as Amtgard. ;D
It's not /that/ far over to Western Washington. We have a ton of great LARPs out here. Oz, Zombie, Shadow Accord, Alliance, Legacies. Hint hint.
I love Capy but MAN they keep throwing in with the wrong platforms. First iOS for Sword & Sworcery and XBone for Below. My only consolation is they have a good track record of porting their games, so I can hope I'll be able to play this eventually.
I think it's worth a play. It's kind of arcadey, with its time-constrained high-score type design, and it's set up for you to play it multiple times. If the idea of multiple 1-2 hour plays doesn't turn you off, there's a lot of unique ideas and fun to be had. In some ways it put me in mind of playing Way of the…
Every time Shelter is mentioned it makes me want to go play Tokyo Jungle.
You made fun of him and he responded playfully. Seems legit to me. I just think that the banter is healthier than getting offended. Calling him a 14-year-old was clearly a joke, just like his response is clearly a joke.
This is precisely why this is such a brilliant analogy. Depending on your perspective they can be really different or really similar. Whether you're a fanboy/fangirl or a hater, the analogy holds.
This is false on two counts.

Well at least he's a just a dick and not also a racist like Fish.
You're mad they translated the jokes? Hrm.
Me too. It's basically the way I think through my strategies in FF games anyway. Having it codified into the game was... vindicating.
Come to think of it, I don't think I've played a Tales game since Symphonia. I know I completed both Destiny and Symphonia. So it's very likely the AI has been drastically improved since the last time I visited the series. I strongly feel that going to the menu is a poor solution. If I'm going to spend half my time in…
Apparently server populations are "100% higher than expected." So, sadly, it probably worked out for them just fine.
That's fair. Problem is I really dislike playing that sort of game with friends like that. Partly it's bad memories of playing FF6 with a really douchey friend in middle school, and partly it's because sitting and watching outside of fights sucks. It's cool to have it as an option if you're into it, but it's cold…
Same reason I never really got that into Tales games. You have this party, and they don't really matter because the AI is so bad they're borderline worthless. At least in FF12 you could set their AI in detail and actually formulate an interesting and complex battle plan.
If they had made this free-to-play and called it Sim City Online, they could have dodged all this bullshit. You cannot charge $60 for a service anymore.
