I loved the storytelling of Order of the Phoenix, but damn, did Harry's emo angst get on my nerves
I read that as "Anal Destination"
This list is null and void without Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, which was the best movie of 2014 thus far, blockbuster, art-house or otherwise.
"cisgender"? What?
The lack of The Raid 2 on this list is unforgivable. I have never seen a more grotesquely beautiful action movie
…I kind of like Drops of Jupiter
Took me a second, but then I smiled
For the purposes of appealing to a female demographic, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Oh, you mean kind of how women do the same thing for men that they find sexually attractive? You mean to tell me that men and women have sexual urges and find those urges stirred by attractive members of the opposite sex?? Say it ain't so!
This has been a hell of a year for big-budget blockbusters: X-Men Days of Future Past, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Godzilla, The LEGO Movie, 22 Jump Street, Edge of Tomorrow, The Winter Soldier…easily some of the best movies of the year thus far.

These movies seem to be going in a completely different direction than the original series, and so far they've done a wonderful job. I'm on board to see where they take this story.
The problem with the ASM movies is director Marc Webb. He's capable enough, technically speaking, but damn, the guy just doesn't have it in him to craft an appropriately superheroic superhero film. He did a great job with 500 Days of Summer, and honestly, I think he should stick to romantic dramas. When he's working…
What does that have to do with anything? There are many shows with great, well-developed female characters around: Parks and Recreation, Scandal, Homeland, Game of Thrones, The Americans, etc, just to name a few. I think it's unfair towards Nic Pizzolato that True Detective in particular is criticized for not having…
So false rape accusations never happen? Did I strike a nerve somewhere?
You are trying too hard, even by AV Club standards
Looks like you took that comment somewhat personally.
Unfortunately, things like this this happen all too often
