If you noticed in Rise, they kept showing these little news pieces on the characters' TVs about a space probe that was malfunctioning. Maybe that's the spaceship that travels through time and ends up back on Earth after the apes have taken over

James Franco's apathetic performance aside, I thought Rise was one of the best sci-fi movies I've seen in the last few years. It had deliberate pacing, put quite a bit of focus on its characters (apes mostly, but it was very well done) and did a great job in building to the climactic fight on the Golden Gate bridge

I know we tend to look down on Rotten Tomatoes here, but this movie has 94% there after ~60 reviews. That's a hell of a score by any metric. I've been hearing some word-of-mouth from people who have seen advanced screenings, and everyone was blown away by it. But I guess Dowd is too cool and ironic for blockbuster

It's alright, I don't think anybody expects AVC posters to be into sports

I'm a lifelong Brazil fan, grew up around other massive Brazil fans and have been watching them play since I was 8 years old (16 years now).

My first exposure to Mastodon was "The Wolf is Loose". I was at the gym and it came on my Spotify playlist, and BAM, that was it. I felt that jolt and was instantly converted.
