My opinion: The movie is decent, but the set design and attention to detail are some of the best of the 90s, full stop.

They do clean the ice for the figure skaters, you just never see it: The skaters skate in groups of four to five, then the zamboni comes around and cleans up the ice. After that, the next group comes out and warms up, marking up the freshly-zamboni’d ice. That’s why figure skaters never seem to skate on perfectly…
